Coventry Aerial Services was established in 1959 by Ron Humphrey, Offering services to meet any and all Television and Radio aerial needs, along with personal care and the highest levels of knowledge whilst carrying out jobs.
At that time, being one of, if not the only professional company around building up a customer base and working in conjunction with many television shops supplying and installing aerials for their customers.
Ray Humphrey (Ron's son) would work holidays and weekends with his father learning the trade when not attending school.
In 1965 at the age of 15 Ray left school and began working for the company full time to help look after the aerial needs of customers in and around the Coventry area.
In 1969 Ron decided to move into plumbing preferring that trade to the aerial trade, so Ray took over the company and hasn't looked back since.
Having spend the last 40 + years working hard to build the company up while always maintaining a personal service with the customers and using nothing but the best materials offering a first class services to each and every job.
As is often the case some engineers have come and gone over the years, some leaving the industry and others starting out on the own after receiving training and a wealth of knowledge only experience can offer.
In 1985 Robert (Bob) Cummings joined the company and brought with him a very keen interest in learning all aspects of the job and an attitude to always carry out the job correctly and neatly.
He learnt quickly and fitted in very well. He has been working with the company for 26 happy and trouble free years, attending training courses including sky Digital installation training.
In 1991 Craig Newbury joined the company, was trained by both Ray and Robert and remained working with the company until he and his family re-located to the Hampshire area in 2003 where he now owns and runs a successful Aerial company.
Phil Humphrey and his younger brother Mat Humphrey (Ray's sons) would work during school holidays and weekends for the company.
In February 1998 Mat joined the company full time, having already been learning the job whilst working part time he quickly got up to speed and settled in well.
His levels of technical knowledge in all areas of the up and coming Digital Television age provided the company to meet all the changing needs of customers upgrading to digital through any available platform as well as being able to offer advice to customers.
Darren Knight joined the company in 2007 after having spent many years working in the industry for other local compaines as well as carrying out sub-contract work for Sky digital installations so brought with him a lot of experience in all aspects of the job.
He fitted into the company very well and now has more then 20 years experience.
We have several ongoing contracts for local housing associations, Estate/letting agents, local universities and many large Midlands electrical shops, testament to the standard of our aerial service
